Architecture and Engineering Occupations ranked first in the 3D printing industry, with 35% of the market share, and new job postings dropped by 21% from quarter to quarter. Computer and Mathematical Occupations were ranked second in Q1 2020 with a share 11%, and new job postings dropped by 65%.
Other prominent 3D Printing roles include Management Occupations, with an 8% Share in Q1 2023 and Production Occupations, with a share of 7% new job postings.
The top five aerospace, defence and Security companies accounted for 70% hiring activity
GlobalData tracked the number of job postings by Raytheon Technologies (Q1 2023), Relativity Space (Q1 2020), Leidos, Blue Origin and Northrop Grumman. The top five companies in terms of new 3D printing jobs tracked by GlobalData, as of Q1 2023, were Raytheon Technologies (relative space), Leidos (blue origin), Northrop Grumman and Relativity Space.
Raytheon Technologies posted 606 3D printing-related new jobs in Q1 2023, Relativity Space 84 jobs, Leidos 75 jobs, Blue Origin 56 jobs, and Northrop Grumman 52 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
In Q1 of 2023, the US was responsible for 85.65% percent of new job postings.
In Q1 2023, the US accounted for 85.65% of all new 3D-printing jobs in the aerospace and defence industry. Canada was second with 2.98 % and Mexico third with 2.50%. The US represented a share 20 percentage points greater than its share of 65.49% in Q4 2022.
