LANDIKOTAL – Officials said that Pakistan Customs and Frontier Corps personnel (FC) in a joint operation stopped a bid by the Taliban to smuggle millions of rupees worth garment rolls at Torkham’s border crossing.
Amjadur Rehman, chief collector customs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said to reporters that they had received credible information and stopped a truck from entering Pakistan via Torkham border.
He claimed that the truck, which was loaded with coal, was searched. Foreign-origin suiting fabrics weighing 3575 kilograms were seized. The cloth rolls were hidden under the truck’s coal load. The driver was also detained by Custom Authorities.
